What I noticed
As usual, high quality. There is a big push in quantitative macro towards models with heterogeneous agents and New Keynesian elements. But also the conventional topics continue to play a key role. For my personal research the emphasis on taxation and human capital policies is of key relevance.
Key message meines Papers
We contribute to a large literature on optimal capital income taxation by providing a simple theoretical model to derive closed form expressions for optimal capital taxes that illustrate the important interplay between precautionary savings motives and pecuniary externalities.
I will take a closer look at these papers presented
Mariacristina de Nardi gave a very interesting keynote lecture on her research. Her work is closely related to mine so I will read her most recent papers carefully.
What I take away for my research
How to improve the paper we presented.
