Most Frequently Asked Questions
(and Answers)
- I have
graduated from university quite a
while ago and I am therefore
not in contact with any of my former professors anymore. I have worked
in a company though and would like to know whether my employer can
provide you with one of the required letters of recommendation.
Answer:
The MMF Admission Committee strictly prefers academic referees. Should
you really have difficulties with finding a second academic referee, a
reference letter by your employer may serve as a substitute. Please
note that this may reduce your chances to receive a positive answer.
- The
online application system does not work
properly. I can’t choose from the courses for which I would like to
apply. Why?
Answer:
The online application system is currently deactivated. Please check
the “News” section on the MMF homepage. As soon as the online
application system is activated, we will announce it.
- As
regards my MMF application, do I need to
send anything by regular post?
Answer:
At the time when you are applying online there is no need to send
anything by post. You can complete your application online. Diploma
certificates, TOEFL/IELTS/GRE score reports and the like should be
scanned and attached to the online application. The MMF Admission
Committee will base its decision entirely on what you (and your
referees) provide online. Later on (in case you receive a positive
answer) you would then need to provide us either with original degree
certificates or certified copies thereof.
- I
have studied at an English speaking university for one semester and
attended lectures and seminars which count towards my Bachelor degree.
Does my stay abroad (at the English speaking university) substitute for
TOEFL (IELTS) test results?
Answer:
No. We only abstain from requiring TOEFL (or IELTS) score reports if
you have completed a full program that was taught at an English
speaking institution. If you do not hold a degree from such
institution, TOEFL (or IELTS) test results are mandatory.
- As
regards TOEFL test results that I have to attach
to my online application, I am afraid I will be receiving the results
after the
closing date for the MMF application. Can I submit my application
without the
TOEFL report and send the report later on?
Answer: No.
At the time of your application you should have TOEFL/IELTS test results which satisfy our minimum requirement.
- How many students are admitted
per year, out of how
many applicants?
Answer: From
an overall number of 400 to 500 applications we admit 45 students per
year.
- In which semester can I start
the MMF program?
Answer: For
the time being, we admit students only for the fall
semester.
- When will I be notified of a
decision?
Answer: Depending on which
deadline you meet (March 15 or May
1) you can expect to receive an answer by the end of May, the beginning
of
July, respectively.
- How will I be notified whether
or not I have been
accepted?
Answer: Successful
applicants will receive an acceptance letter
both via email and regular post
-
Do you require GRE scores? How
important are they?
Answer: GRE
scores are required for submitting an application, so please make
sure you have them by the time you submit. A score of 680 in the
quantitative part is required for admission.
