Dissertation Proposal Award for Junior Marketing Researcher

Daniel M. Ringel, Doctorate Student at the Chair of Electronic Commerce of Prof. Bernd Skiera, won the 2014 Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Award of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science (ISMS). His honored dissertation proposal is entitled “Creating Insights in Markets with Many Products” and describes his research in the field of Big Data and Competitive Market Analysis.

Goethe University is the first European university to produce a winner of this prestigious award which has previously been won only by doctorate students of top North American Universities such as Harvard, Yale and MIT. Daniel will receive a $5,000 check and present his work at the 2015 ISMS Marketing Science Conference in Baltimore.

 

Daniel started his doctoral studies at Goethe University, supervised by Bernd Skiera, in 2011. Before and during completing an executive MBA at Goethe Business School in alliance with DUKE Fuqua School of Business, he worked as a management consultant at the Monitor Group, headed a small management consulting firm and founded an e-commerce centric retail and wholesale business, specialized in the sales, distribution and production of remote controlled airplanes and helicopters, which he sold in 2011.
