Title: Improving Workplace Climate: A Randomized Intervention on Large Corporations

Abstract: We evaluate the impact of a program that aims to improve workplace climate and relational dynamics in large corporations. The program is implemented as a clustered randomized design and evaluated using a diverse set of outcomes, including the prevalence of support networks, prosocial and anti-social behaviors, and perceived relational climate. We find that professionals in treated corporations are less inclined to sabotage their colleagues' performance, exhibit higher reciprocity, report higher workplace satisfaction, and collegial cooperation. Departments in treated firms have significantly fewer socially isolated individuals. The program's success in improving leader-subordinate relationships emerges as a likely mechanism to explain these results.
