Admission and Requirements

MMF applicants should either hold or expect to have by the time of enrollment a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the area of Economics, Finance, or in some related field.

Please use the link below for the submission of your application online via uni-assist. In case of a foreign degree, some application documents must also be sent by post. Please note that all hardcopies must arrive by the deadline. In that case, the online application must be completed several days before the deadline. It is not possible to hand in any documents after the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Please note that you require a recommendation letter for the application in 2024. If the recommending person would like to submit the document directly to our faculty, please use the program's internal e-mail address, mmf.office[at]hof.uni-frankfurt[dot]de. If the recommendation letter is directly submitted via this e-mail address, you do not have to upload this document to uni-assist with the rest of your application documents.

Update March 18th, 2024

Tomorrow, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. CET/MEZ, we will offer an informal and virtual Info Session. If you are interested to join, please send a short request to mmf.office[at]hof.uni-frankfurt[dot]de and we will send you the Zoom invitation.

Update February 21st, 2024

A new examination regulation will be published for the MMF as of the winter term 2024. There will be minor changes to the program, which apply to new students of the intake 2024:

1. Professor Haliassos and Professor Trabandt (Department Money and Macro) are the new directors of the MMF program.

2. The program is relabeled to "Money, Macro and Finance". The acronym MMF remains.

3.  The focus module "Money" is relabeled to "Monetary Economics and Macroeconomics".

4. Students must complete two seminars in "Finance" and two Seminars in "Monetary Economics and Macroeconomics" (formerly only one each). The compulsory Fundamental Courses of the first semester are reduced to four (formerly five).

We will publish the new examination regulation soon. We will also introduce the new MMF structure in our Info Session in March (see below).

Update February 21st, 2024

We will offer an informal and virtual Info Session for new applicants on March 19th, 2024, 10:00 a.m. CET/MEZ. Please find the Zoom Link here shortly before the meeting starts.
