Welcome to the Chair of Industrial Organization and Financial Markets

Our group studies the strategic behavior of firms in oligopoly markets. We employ methods from game theory and applied microeconomics and are interested in the analysis of auctions, dynamic oligopoly models, industry dynamics, market structure as well as competition and antitrust policy. An important aspect of our research is the empirical modelling of strategic interaction of market agents and estimating the underlying structural parameters. Currently, we are investigating the effect of competition in treasury auctions and the effect of the current economic crisis on firms' markups in the construction sector.
