Metzler Stiftungsprofessur Seminar – Mirko Heinle (Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania)

We would like to thank Mirko Heinle from the Wharton School for his insightful presentation at our Metzler Stiftungsprofessur Seminar.

In his paper “Preemptive Disclosure”, Mirko and his colleagues examine how managers adjust their disclosure behavior in the face of potential information leaks. Contrary to standard models predicting reduced disclosure under leak risk, their findings suggest that managers often choose to preempt leaks by disclosing bad news themselves—offering new insights into the strategic dynamics of corporate transparency.
