Sustainability Standards Conference 2025
Following the successful launch last year, the second Sustainability Standards Conference will take place on July 21–22, 2025, at Goethe University Frankfurt.
AccSus’ Anna Rohlfing-Bastian and Erika Bognar are co-organizing the conference in collaboration with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany (DRSC), the House of Finance and Deutsche Börse Group. The event brings together experts from regulation, academia, and practice to discuss current developments in sustainability reporting.
Under the theme “Advancing Sustainability Disclosure: Implementing the Global Baseline and Future Strategies for Biodiversity and Human Capital” the 2025 conference will focus on current challenges in sustainability reporting. Key topics include the application of the ISSB’s global baseline in practice and current trends in the disclosure of biodiversity and human capital information.
The conference agenda is structured around the main areas of regulation, academia, and practice. Regulatory developments and the design of a globally consistent framework for sustainability reporting will be the focus of the first day. In the evening, a get-together will offer participants the opportunity for further exchange. The second day will begin with a focus on academia: Four research projects on biodiversity and human capital will first be presented and discussed, followed by in-depth discussions in breakout groups. The conference will conclude with a panel discussion addressing issues of practical implementation and relevance.
