Conference on Sustainability Reporting
How can sustainability reporting regulation be designed to create transparency without imposing unnecessary costs on companies?
Last week, our colleague Matthias Breuer joined leading academics and standard setters at the Conference on Sustainability Reporting: Bridging Academia and Standard Setting at Saïd Business School to discuss exactly this challenge.
Matthias participated in Panel 1: “The cost of reporting regulations”, alongside Richard Barker and Gaizka Ormazabal, moderated by Amir Amel-Zadeh. The discussion focused on the costs associated with reporting regulation and explored how sustainability reporting frameworks can be designed in a way that balances transparency, comparability, and practicality for firms.
The conference brought together researchers, regulators, and standard setters to bridge academic insights with real-world policy design — an important conversation as sustainability reporting continues to evolve globally.
We are proud to see our department contributing to these international discussions and helping shape the future of sustainability reporting.
