AccSus in Prague

Last week, several members of the AccSus department traveled to Prague for a week of academic exchange, research presentations, and discussions with colleagues from across the international accounting community.

Katharina Hombach and Matthias Breuer served on the faculty of the 42nd EAA Doctoral Colloquium, which provides doctoral students with the opportunity to discuss their research with leading international scholars and engage in sessions on academic careers, publishing, reviewing, and professional development.

Sara Bormann and Doron Reichmann attended the annual meeting of the European Accounting Symposium for Young Scholars (EASYS). Co-organized by Sara Bormann and Jochen Pierk, EASYS offers early-career researchers a platform to present their work in a collaborative workshop environment. Sara presented her research on cyber risk and information compartmentalization within firms, while Doron shared research on the role of persuasively delivered earnings call presentations.

Finally, Erika Bognar, Evelyn Intan, and Doron Reichmann participated in the EAA Annual Congress. Research presented by AccSus members covered a wide range of topics, including personality traits and self-selection, the role of incentive design in social comparisons, and the role of AI in affecting management communication.
