Research

We are embedded in a global network of leading institutions, driving frontier research through close collaboration.

RMU / GSEFM (Rhein-Main Universities & Graduate School of Economics, Finance, and Management)
Through the RMU alliance (Goethe University Frankfurt, Mainz, and TU Darmstadt), we are part of a leading research network in the region. Its joint PhD platform, GSEFM, offers rigorous, internationally oriented doctoral training with strong methodological foundations and close faculty mentorship.

Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
We collaborate closely with Frankfurt School, our neighboring institution, through joint conferences, shared research seminars, and cross-institutional PhD training. Doctoral students benefit from access to courses and an active local research community.

5U Network
The 5U network connects leading accounting departments in the Rhine-Main area (Goethe, Mannheim, Cologne, Frankfurt School, WHU). Joint events—especially the annual conference—provide a platform for presenting research and engaging with a high-level academic audience.

TRR 266 “Accounting for Transparency”
TRR 266 is a DFG-funded collaborative research center studying transparency in accounting and capital markets. It supports joint research, conferences, and doctoral training across leading German universities.

DART (Doctoral Program in Accounting, Reporting, and Taxation)
DART is a joint doctoral initiative (Graz, Vienna) offering advanced training and networking opportunities in accounting research. It strengthens methodological skills and connects our PhD students to a broader European academic community.

REAP (Research on European Accounting Policy)
REAP links leading European institutions (including Oxford, IESE, and Zurich) to advance research in accounting policy. Activities include a joint summer school, conferences, and ongoing academic exchange.
