Welcome to the Chair of Management Science and Strategy

We do research on the factors affecting organizational performance, focussing on the human factor. The three broad areas of current research concern employee turnover, workforce diversity, and incentives. More precisely, we look at the consequences of inter-firm worker movement for both sending and receiving firms; firms' actions to manage employe turnover; the influence of workforce diversity on firm performance and its interplay with production technology; employees' responses to incentives and the roles of worker team composition and personality in shaping these responses. While we do some theory, our research is mostly empirical, using large matched worker-firm data which recently been made available by governmental agencies, company personnel records, as well as data from lab and field experiments.
