Christian Hüning studied Business Administration at the University of Cologne and the San Diego State University, San Diego (CA, USA), with specializations in Business Finance, Corporate Finance and Economics and graduated as Diplom-Kaufmann. Additionally, he also received a Master-degree in Strategic Entrepreneurship from the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University Rotterdam).

Before he started working as a research assistant at the Chair of Strategic Management, Christian Hüning has worked for several years as a consultant in the Mergers & Acquisitions as well as Treasury Management departments at Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The focus of his research is in the field of Strategic Entrepreneurship.
