Andreas Hackethal advises European Securities and Markets Authority

Program Director of SAFE research area “Household Finance” appointed a member of Consultative Working Group of ESMA's Financial Innovation Standing Committee

The Standing Committees supports the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) in its task to promote stable and orderly financial markets and to enhance the protection of investors.

Andreas Hackethal is a Professor of Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt since 2008. He is also one of the directors of the E-Finance Lab. His empirical research is on individual investment behavior, the role of financial advice and on financial innovations. He is a member of the advisory council of the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), of the Exchange Experts Commission, which advises the German Federal Ministry of Finance, and of the Global Agenda Council on the Future of Insurance and Asset Management of the World Economic Forum.

Beside Andreas Hackethal, Peter Gomber, Principle Investigator at SAFE, also advises ESMA. He is a member of Secondary Markets Standing Committee. Until the end of year 2016 Jan Pieter Krahnen, Director at SAFE, was also an advisor for ESMA. In 2011 he had been appointed a member of the CWG of the Committee for Economic and Markets Analysis.
