Credit-point Courses - French for Economists

There are a total of four separate economic Français Economique courses (A-B-C-D) within the scope of the Economic Français Economique Credit-point Courses.  Only one course (A or B or C or D) is offered on a rotating basis each semester.

  1. Bachelor students in their study year of consolidation and specialization (s. PO §8).
  2. Online enrolment for the chosen course during the stipulated enrolment time (4.10.2021 until 15.10.2021).  Enrolment is on a ‘first come first served basis’. After the online enrolment for French for Economists Credit-Point Courses has ended, a later e-mail enrolment is only possible for students of our Faculty who have in the past already successfully completed one of our French for Economists Credit-point Courses, and, of course, if there are any vacant places available on these courses.
  3. Only in winter semester 2021/22: an official document proving your language abilities (B2.2 Certificate, DELF B2 or C1) or a pass grade in the final examinations of a previous Bachelor Credit-point Course in French for Economists.
Due to the pandemic, the Foreign Languages for Economists Department has decided to cancel the qualifying test for the winter semester 2021/22.
Lessons will commence from 18 October onwards.
You will be required to present an official document proving your language abilities (B2.2 Certificate, DELF B2 or C1) when registering.
Students will not be able to register without one of the above certificates.

The exam consists of a written part and an oral part. The written exam takes 120 minutes (80% of the final mark) and takes place at the end of the course. In order to be eligible to take the exam, the previous written registration at the start of the semester to the Examination’s Office is required.

The oral examination is 20% of the total mark. The oral exam consists of a presentation with a pre-arranged topic. The oral exam takes place in the last week of the semester.

Credit points: All participants receive 5 credit points upon the successful completion of the economic French credit-point courses: French for Economists.

For each passed exam, an internal C1.1 certificate is awarded. The certificate indicates the exam result and the individual marks for each exam. The certificate can be picked up at SSIX approximately 3 weeks after the written exam.
