
Master's Course
The Master's Course in English for Economists is exclusively reserved for Master students matriculated in a German-language Master's study course in our faculty and is offered every semester. The following Master students are eligible to take this course:
- Master of Business Administration
- Master in Economics Informatics
- Master in Vocational Education
An official document proving language abilities (C1 Certificate, Cambridge certificate (C1) or TOEFL test of a minimum of 100) will be required.
TARGET LEVEL OF COMPETENCE
This Master’s course corresponds to level C1.2. according to the Common European Reference Framework on Languages (CEFR).
MASTER QUALIFYING TEST
Due to the current crisis, the Foreign Languages for Economists Department has decided to cancel the qualifying test for the Summer Semester 2021.
Lessons will commence in the week starting 12 April 2021.
You will be required to present an official document proving your language abilities (C1 Certificate, Cambridge certificate (C1) or TOEFL test of a minimum of 100) when registering.
Students will not be able to enrol without one of the above certificates.
Participants will have ample opportunity to take an active role through working in pairs, small groups and in the form of plenary discussions. A greater understanding of grammar will be achieved by monitoring and discussing oral and written exercises.

DATES
Thursdays, 12:00 – 14:00, beginning 15.4.2021 (For classroom: see LSF)
Oral and written examinations (90 minutes) both take place at the end of the lecture time. There are no second or repeat examination dates.
All participants are required to write a home assignment of 1,000 words and must hand it in in class.
CREDIT POINTS All successful participants will receive 6 credit points for completing the Master's Course: English for Economists.
For successfully completing the course an internal language competence C1.2 certificate will be issued. This will contain all points gained in each examination achievement including the final grade. It can be collected from SSIX Info Center.
