Spanish for Economists

Courses: Three courses are available to students studying Economics or Business Administration. They include Levels A2.2 and B1.1 (preliminary and threshold courses) and C1 (effective operational proficiency) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Number of participants: The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 20 in all courses.

Assessment: If you would like an assessment of your current level of Spanish language ability, you can access a placement exam via the e-learning platform OLAT.

There are two types of courses:


Two levels: Introduction - Intermediate

These courses are available at any level both to Bachelor students as well as to Master students.

Students from other faculties are free to fill any vacant study places one week before courses begin.

These courses are available both to Bachelor students who have completed their Orientation Year (Orientierungsjahr) in Economics or Business Education and, in addition, to Master students of Business Education.

Students are expected to already possess a very good knowledge of Spanish as well as respective economic terminology.

A Qualifying Test takes place during the first week of the semester. It ist obligatory for students who have not already successfully passed a credit-point course in Espanol Economico in a previous semester. They must register for this qualifying test via the obligatory online registration.
