Informations for Students of a Subsidiary Subject

As different responsibilities in the support, curriculums and rules apply to the different groups of students studying subsidiary courses it is important to find out which to which category you belong.

Essentialy the examination office distinguishes between two categories:

Students which are registered for a subsidiary subject and those who are only registered for their major subject and complete courses at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FB02) as part of this. The later group is refered to as students not registered for subsidiary courses.

You can see from your study report (Studienbescheinigung) to which category you belong to. The study report is available from QIS under the section Administration of Study.

All students that are not registered for subsidiary subject in Business Administration (BWL) or Economics (VWL) are not looked after by the examination office for the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration but by the faculty and examination office of their major subject.

Those students should contact the exam office or faculty responsible for their major subject for all queries (for example for registering exams or submitting medical certficates). We would like to point out however, that the deadlines for the registration and withdrawal period for exams of the FB 02 are applicable, as well as the regulations and policies for the acquisition of credit points noted in the examination regualtions for registered subsidiary subjects.

Students registered in the subsidiary subject are supported by us.

The following information is for all students who are registered for a subsidiary subject – for all other students of subsidiary subjects the regulations may differ.

Students who still have to complete subsidiary courses for a diploma can receive information whether it is possible to change to the new examination regulations. Particularly seeing that diploma concentration courses and exams were offered for the last time in WS 08/09 and diploma specialisation courses and exams took place for the last time in WS 10/11.
