André Gröger receives Research Prize

André Gröger, who is currently holding a postdoctoral researcher position in the Applied Econometrics and International Economic Policy department, was awarded the Young Researcher Prize for excellence in policy relevant research on developing countries. It is awarded by the German Economic Association’s Research Group on Development Economics and is sponsored by the KfW Development Bank. The Prize honors academic work combining original research and practical relevance, thus giving fresh impetus for development cooperation. Every year three young researchers receive recognition for their work. During this year’s meeting in Göttingen, André Gröger received the first Prize for his doctoral dissertation “On the Causes and Consequences of Migration in Developing Countries“ (Advisors: Prof Dr Rainer Klump and Prof Guido Friebel, PhD).
