Diagnostic competence of (prospective) teachers in vocational education: an analysis of error identification in accounting lessons

Abstract:

This chapter examines the skill of diagnostic competence in relation to potential teachers of vocational education. Teachers with good diagnostic competences are often better at adapting their teaching to the needs of their students. Studies such as the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) have shown that teachers are often lacking this skill. It is a skills neglected in many teacher training programs. This chapter focuses on business education and its prospective teachers.
