Andreas is a Professor of Finance at Goethe University in Frankfurt. He joined Goethe’s Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in 2008. He was Dean of the Department of Economics from 2011 to 2015 and then Dean of Studies until 2020. He acts as the head of the research area 'household finance' at the 'Leibniz Institute SAFE', is co-director of the 'Center for Financial Studies' and co-director of 'efl-The Data Science Institute'. His empirical research is on household financial decisions, the role of financial advice and the digitalization of the financial industry. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board of BaFin, member of the Stock Exchange Expert Commission at BMF and of the Financial Innovation Working Group for the corresponding Standing Committee of ESMA in Paris. He sits on two supervisory boards of technology companies and supports the Frankfurt TechQuartier and the Unibator start-up center on behalf of Goethe University.
