Professor Skiera receives prestigious MSI Paul Root Award

Philipp Schmitt, Bernd Skiera, and Christophe Van den Bulte (have been selected as the recipients of the 2011 MSI/H. Paul Root Award for their article “Referral Programs and Customer Value,” which appeared in the January 2011 (Vol. 75, No. 1) issue of Journal of Marketing.

Votes for the awards were solicited from members of the JM Editorial Review Board, and Valarie Zeithaml served as chair. The article was chosen for its significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of marketing.

The award is presented annually at the American Marketing Association’s Summer Educator’s Marketing Educators Conference held this August in Chicago, IL.

 

  • Philipp Schmitt is a doctoral student in the Marketing Department in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany and was a visiting doctoral student in the Stern School of Business and the Wharton School.
  • Bernd Skiera is a Chaired Professor of Electronic Commerce in the Department of Marketing in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University
  • Christophe Van den Bulte is Associate Professor of Marketing in the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
