Placement test
The placement test is for the "Courses for all students" and is a recommendation to assess their language level. Placement tests can be taken in three languages (English, French & Spanish) of the business language courses. This tests technical vocabulary, grammar and comprehension using single-choice, matching and gap-filling tasks to find the best possible course for your language level. The only prerequisite for the test is your OLAT access information.
The placement test can be taken online from home at any time. You will need about 30 minutes to complete it. The result of the placement test is a recommendation and does not lead to an obligatory participation in the respective language level. However, we strongly recommend complying with the assessment.
For English, French and Spanish for Economists, a placement test is available on the Lernplattform OLAT.
Enrolment form
When enrolling, we ask you to use your student e-mail address from the Goethe University (@stud.uni-frankfurt.de) instead of your private e-mail address (Gmail, Hotmail, GMX, etc.). This is because the faculty has had problems delivering emails to these web-based addresses.
If the account holder's name is not the same as the participant being enrolled, please make a note of this in your enrolment.
Right after your enrolment, you will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail of your enrolment (if you don't receive an automatically issued confirmation email, please contact us per email wis[at]wiwi.uni-frankfurt[dot]de).
You may only enrol for one course in each language.
Course fees
90 euros (2 SWS/13 weeks)
Bank transfer
Your bank transfer must be sent off within 3 working days after enrolment. If we do not receive your course fee within those 3 days then you may lose your place on the course.
Please do not forget to write the invoice number on your bank transfer form so that our booking and payment system can easily recognise your payment. The 16-digit invoice number can be found in your confirmation e-mail.

Registration procedure and deadlines
A two-stage registration procedure with different deadlines applies. You must take part in both stages and pass the Online Qualifying Test!
Stage 1: Course enrolment period: 21 September 2026 – 5 October 2026 via QIS
Stage 2: Exam registration and withdrawal period: 8 October 2026 – 21 October 2026 via QIS
Remaining-places pool: 22 October 2026 – Detailed information will be published in due course on this website.
An enrolment only takes effect if a language certificate is held or obtained:
English Online Qualifying Test on 28 September 2026 from 9 am to 11 am
French Online Qualifying Test on 28 September 2026 from 12 noon to 2 pm
Spanish Online Qualifying Test on 28 September 2026 from 3 pm to 5 pm
In the Online Qualifying Test, you can either obtain a language certificate by passing the test or upload an existing language certificate as a PDF.
Enrolments without a language certificate will be cancelled.
Qualifying Test
The Qualifying Test for the respective compulsory elective module courses (English, French, Spanish) is a test taken online via the L-Plus platform. It consists of multiple-choice questions and tests your knowledge of grammar, vocabulary (particularly in the field of business) and also your reading comprehension. The level required to pass this test is B2.2. As soon as you have completed the Qualifying Test, you will automatically receive your result (pass / fail).
Recognised language certificates
Only the following certificates are recognised as an existing language certificate:
English:
· Cambridge English C1 certificate
· TOEFL test with at least 100 points
· IELTS test with at least 7.5 points
· C1 language certificate from completing a Bachelor's compulsory elective module (WPM) in Business English in a previous semester.
French:
· Baccalauréat, Abibac
· DALF / DELF C1
· C1 language certificate from completing a Bachelor's compulsory elective module (WPM) in Business French in a previous semester.
Spanish:
· C1 language certificate from completing a Bachelor's compulsory elective module (WPM) in Business Spanish in a previous semester.
Existing certificates can be uploaded to the L-Plus platform only for the duration of the Online Qualifying Test.
