FAQ
Application Deadlines
We cannot assess eligibility or admission chances before you apply. Applications are reviewed by the admissions committee only during the application period, once all required documents have been submitted via uni-assist.
Every year, we can accept students for the Wintersemester only.
Every year, we have three stages in which prospective students can apply. The first stage ends on January 31, the second stage ends on March 31, and the third stage ends on May 15.
Required documents
Yes, but at the time of application, you must have completed at least 80% of the credit points required for graduation in your bachelor’s degree. If you are admitted, you are also expected to finish your bachelor’s degree by the end of the first semester of your master's program.
The eligibility of foreign degrees depends on the specific country and type of degree. Please consult the DAAD database for guidelines on the equivalency of international qualifications.
Yes. But we also offer two alternatives. Please have a look at Admission and Requirements under the section Recommendation Letter.
Language requirements and GRE or GMAT
No. The MMF program is taught entirely in English, so knowledge of German is not required, and no language certificate is needed. However, basic German skills can be helpful for everyday life in Frankfurt.
We only accept the following certificates:
- TOEFL (at least 95 iBT).
- IELTS Academic Test (band score of at least 7)
- UNIcert (at least level 3)
- Cambridge Certificate (at least C1 Advanced)
No. A semester or exchange stay at an English-speaking university does not substitute for an English language certificate. We waive the language test requirement only if you have completed an entire degree program taught fully in English. In that case, please upload official proof with your application. If you do not hold such a degree, a test such as TOEFL or IELTS is mandatory.
GRE or GMAT scores are not mandatory. You can submit your application without GRE/ GMAT. In this case our admission committee will assess your quantitative skills based on your transcript of records (amount of quantitative ECTS and respected average grade). You are allowed, however, to submit a GRE/ GMAT if you feel your quantitative skills are not fairly represented in your bachelor's transcript. In this case, we will only look at your GRE/ GMAT score and ignore your transcript of records.
You must upload proof of your test results as PDF in your online application, even if the testing institution sends the scores directly to us. During the application process, we only use the documents and data you upload to the online system.
No. You must provide all required test results at the time of your application. This applies to all documents in your application. If you do not receive the official score report in time (e.g., TOEFL), you must upload a screenshot of your online test results instead of the scan/PDF of the official report.
Selection and Admission
The MMF program is highly competitive. We receive almost 1,000 applications each year and admit around 40 students. Because the applicant pool varies from year to year, there is no fixed minimum GPA for admission. Applicants are evaluated based on their GPA, quantitative skills, motivation letter, and a recommendation letter (or the respective substitute).
Top applicants in the first two stages can expect to receive positive feedback within four to six week following their respective deadline. All other applications will be considered after the final deadline (May 15) and will receive a positive or negative update shortly thereafter.
